Mr. Castillo’s life and Faith are as much an inspiration to St. Catherine’s mission as his talent and skills are indispensable to our operations.  Mr. Castillo immigrated to the U.S. as an unaccompanied minor at the age of 11.  He embraced hard lessons of self-sufficiency that led him to immense success in a variety of fields.  He attended the University of Florida on a full baseball scholarship before returning to the life he loves in the cattle and agriculture industries.  He holds 24 years of experience in the management of multimillion dollar ranch properties which he has consistently led to high profitability through his veterinary expertise and uniquely humane brand of insight toward the livestock under his care.  He has a similar record of success in managing all aspects of the construction industry, and he is currently nurturing his artistic talent by finishing a B.A. in architecture.  The combined range of his experience is precisely what Rancho Santa Catarina will need to oversee its construction and manage its operations for self-sustainment as a working ranch through which children will experience a range of opportunities to learn life skills.  However, it is from Mr. Castillo’s care, direction, and example that they will learn the most.  A proud father of three and a secular member of Familia Victricis, he is currently discerning a vocation to the deaconate.
